Cookie policy

This page lists every cookie and every stored value Solaro leaves in your browser, what it is for and how long it lasts. The list is generated from the same table a developer has to extend when adding a cookie, so it cannot go stale independently of the site.

In short

We use no analytics, no advertising cookies and no third-party cookies, and we do not follow you across other sites. Everything listed is either strictly necessary or a preference you set yourself. That is why the bar at the bottom is a notice rather than a gate — nothing is held back pending your consent, because there is nothing to consent to.

Cookies

Sent with every request to our server. All are scoped to this domain and set with "SameSite=Lax", meaning they are not sent when you arrive here via a form on someone else's site.

NameWhat it doesLifetimeWho gets it
solaro_sessionNecessaryNot script-readableKeeps you signed in after you log in as an installer or open your conversation from an emailed link. It holds only a random identifier — everything else lives on the server, and the database stores only its hash.30 daysSigned-in only
solaro_signed_inNecessaryHolds the value "1" and nothing else. It tells the header to show "My space" instead of "Sign in". It carries no identity and is set alongside the session above.30 daysSigned-in only
solaro_adminNecessaryNot script-readableThe session for the platform's admin panel. Only set for staff who sign in to it.12 hoursStaff only

Local storage

Stays in your browser and is never sent to the server. We use it only for preferences you chose yourself.

Session storage

Cleared when you close the tab, and likewise never sent to the server on its own.

What we do not use

Named individually, because an absence is hard to verify and easy to claim. None of the following is present on this site:

  • Google Analytics or any other cookie-based analytics tool.
  • Facebook Pixel, Google Ads and similar advertising tags.
  • Third-party cookies of any kind.
  • Embedded content from external services (YouTube, maps, widgets).
  • External web fonts — we render in fonts already on your device.
  • Browser fingerprinting or cross-site tracking.

What happens on the server

This part never shows up in your browser's cookie list, but a policy without it would be incomplete — because this is where data that can concern you is actually processed.

Request rate limiting

To keep spam and automated form submissions out, we briefly store a marker derived from your IP address together with a count of attempts in a short window. The marker is not linked to any account and is used for nothing else.

Retention: The window is between one minute and one hour depending on the form; the record is overwritten on the next attempt.

Anonymous calculator runs

When you complete an estimate, the server records the technical inputs and the result (municipality, consumption, roof area and type, system size, estimated saving). The record contains no name, email, IP address or anything else that could tie it to you — we use it to see how much the calculator is used and to improve the model.

Retention: Kept indefinitely, because they cannot be connected to a person.

Web server logs

Like any web server, our hosting records technical details about requests. We do not use those logs to profile visitors and we do not join them with quote request data.

Retention: According to our hosting provider's retention policy.

External services

"We set no third-party cookies" is not the same claim as "no third party ever sees you". Here is where each external service stands in relation to this site:

  • Open-Meteo — The solar index forecast is fetched by our server, not your browser, so Open-Meteo does not see visitors to this site.
  • Google Fonts — Not used. The site renders in fonts already installed on your device, so nothing is fetched from an external server.

How to control this

You can clear all of it at any time with no consequence for using the site — you will simply be signed out and lose your chosen theme:

  • Clear site data for this domain in your browser settings.
  • Signing out deletes the session cookies immediately.
  • A private window keeps nothing once it is closed.
  • If your browser blocks storage the site still works — preferences just are not remembered.
